B come Buchi nell’acqua / Holes in the Water
Fare Buchi nell’acqua, un ossimoro meraviglioso che sicuramente allude all’essere inconcludenti al fallimento, ma tutte queste cose le lascio volentieri al vocabolario. Mi piace pensare a questa situazione paradossale come ad un’immagine inafferrabile che si offre, a chi vuole tentarne una messa a fuoco, in tutta la sua cristallina e limpida evidenza. Fare Buchi nell’acqua… anni fa, doveva essere l’estate del 2021, avevo da poco il mio attuale studio, bello luminoso, fra le prime cose, che ho fatto lì, ricordo una serie di lavori di formato ellittico che spesso avevano dei buchi, buchi che si presentavano come vortici, vortici che sembravano risucchiare tutto quello che avevo dipinto nel quadro come il Maelstrom. Mi piaceva da morire fare questi buchi, ricordo che in testa mi ripetevo: “ fare un buco tutto il giorno” era come una cantilena avvolgente, seducente allora ho smesso ma da qualche parte è rimasta l’immagine dei buchi nell’acqua che presto o tardi tornerà a trovarmi, ti aspetto!

Holes in the Water.
Making Holes in the Water, a wonderful oxymoron that certainly alludes to being inconclusive and failing, but I’ll gladly leave all these things to the dictionary. I like to think of this paradoxical situation as an elusive image that presents itself, to anyone who tries to focus on it, in all its crystalline and limpid clarity. Making Holes in the Water… years ago, it must have been the summer of 2021, I had just opened my current studio, beautifully bright. Among the first things I did there, I remember a series of elliptical works that often had holes, holes that appeared like vortices, vortices that seemed to suck everything I had painted into the painting like the Maelstrom. I loved making these holes, I remember repeating in my head: “make a hole all day long” it was like an enveloping, seductive chant so I stopped but somewhere the image of the holes in the water remained that sooner or later will come back to visit me, I’m waiting for you!
