Il mio studio non è grande ma è sufficiente a ospitarmi con tutto ciò che mi serve. E’ un piccolo capannone industriale, al confine con una zona di verde urbanizzata, che da molti anni condivido con altri artisti con cui scambio idee, informazioni e progetti. Per me lo studio è uno spazio di ricerca e sperimentazione dove un’idea o un’intuizione prendono forma, ma è anche uno spazio mentale, del pensiero, un luogo sospeso e rituale, un archivio – contenitore dove il lavoro di tanto tempo si somma stratificando esperienze.
Quando entro a studio, la prima cosa che faccio è accendere le luci e guardare con attenzione il dipinto che ho lasciato sulla parete o a terra il giorno prima. Dopo aver sistemato i materiali e lo spazio torno sulle mie carte e riprendo il progetto lasciato, altre volte ho invece bisogno di tenere il lavoro in sospeso per qualche tempo.
Quando esco dallo studio trovo un giardino un pò selvatico dove mangiare al sole con i miei compagni di studio e dove posso coltivare iris, peperoncini e cavoli.

My studio is not big but it is big enough to accommodate me with everything I need. It is a small industrial shed, bordering an urbanised green area, which I have been sharing for many years with other artists with whom I exchange ideas, information and projects. For me, the studio is a space for research and experimentation where an idea or an intuition takes shape, but it is also a mental space, a space of thought, a suspended and ritual place, an archive – container where the work of so much time is added up by layering experiences.
When I enter the studio, the first thing I do is turn on the lights and look carefully at the painting I left on the wall or on the floor the day before. After arranging the materials and the space I go back to my papers and resume the project I left behind, at other times I need to keep the work on hold for some time.
When I leave the studio I find a somewhat wild garden where I can eat in the sun with my fellow students and where I can grow irises, chillies and cabbages.
