Parola d’Artista:  Come nasce e intorno a quali concetti si sviluppa il progetto Visibilia?

Isabella Puliafito: È difficile ricostruire un percorso mentale.
Quando sia esattamente nato il progetto di Visibilia non so esattamente, circa 5 anni fa, quando nel 2019 ero a Gubbio,* Sicuramente negli ultimi vent’anni si insinuava nel retro pensiero una certa insofferenza nell’ osservare un progressivo sfilacciamento nelle arti visive, che peraltro ritrovo ancora nelle considerazioni di alcuni illustri rappresentanti e promotori dell’arte contemporanea.
Troppe biennali un po’ raffazzonate, troppe fiere con il conseguente marketing.
Certamente i decenni passati hanno visto la supremazia di grandi protagonisti che hanno dominato e tuttora dominano la scena artistica italiana con grande eco anche internazionale .
Dopo decenni così ricchi di grande arte si verifica sempre un breve intervallo da cui poi emerge e si configura una sorta di evoluzione che ha comunque le radici nei grandi maestri. 
Visibilia incorpora il desiderio di ritrovare questo filo rosso che lega in un continuum la ricerca alla tradizione sviluppandone temi, considerazioni ma modificando tecniche, materiali, modalità espositive a che con le nuove tecnologie.
Visibilia rappresenta una particolare tendenza all’immaterialità, all’impermanenza, ad uno sguardo verso la realtà in ogni suo aspetto naturale ed emotivo espresso con forme leggere, talvolta invisibili, con la luce, con colori leggeri, con la polvere, la cenere, le notti stellate, le evanescenze, i canti poetici. 
Visibilia riguarda il mondo delle vibrazioni, delle energie sottili che ogni cosa , ogni oggetto animato e inanimato emette finché ha vita e lo trasmette con dolci rimandi e profonde riflessioni su ciò che è visibile e spesso invisibile alla nostra retina.
Quell’invisibile racchiuso ovunque, nelle emozioni, nei pensieri, nei sogni, nell’immaginario, ma anche nel mondo della materia vicina e lontana, nell’essenza delle cose nell’ampio spettro delle intuizioni 
Quell’essenza che si può percepire attraverso le vibrazioni con un rimando silenzioso alla vita interiore.Il fattore spirituale e’ insito nella materia come il cuore in un corpo, separare la materia dalla sua essenza sarebbe come togliere l’aria dall’atmosfera, il sale dal mare.La realta è composta di elementi che da solidi diventano liquidi o gassosi e viceversa in un eterno movimento, in una trasformazione perenne e ineludibile.Esistono tutti in forme e compattezze differenti. Questi sono i segreti da conoscere, questi sono i segreti dell’alchimia delle sostanze, delle loro intrinseche qualità e delle loro infinite possibilità, che, in quantità differenti e calibrate portano ad una forte empatia con ciò che ci circonda e fa della vita stessa una strana alchimia.
Visibilia è una mostra multimediale, cerca di rappresentare tutte le forme espressive 
Le opere coprono una vasta gamma delle esplorazioni visive dalla fotografia digitale e non, alla pittura acrilica, dal video al neon, dalle proiezioni alle installazioni con materiali diversi.

Parola d’Artista:  quali sono gli artisti che hai coinvolto e perché?

Isabella Puliafito: Dopo aver pensato a tutte le artiste ed artisti di cui conoscevo e amavo il lavoro e nel quale riconoscevo una simile poetica e ne ho parlato con Remo Salvadori nella meravigliosa cornice della piazza di Altopascio.
Remo ha condiviso il progetto, come pure Marco Bagnoli e insieme abbiamo allargato la cerchia degli artisti nei quali si potevano riconoscere gli umori e le tematiche che riconoscevamo negli artisti che avevo cominciato a raggruppare.
Quasi tutti sono stati allievi o assistenti di Grandi artisti come Luciano Fabro, Mario Merz, Alighiero Boetti, Giulio Paolini, Alberto Garutti, Alik Cavaliere e hanno conosciuto e amato opere dei grandi predecessori.
Poi sentiti gli altri artisti il gruppo si è ulteriormente allargato fino ad arrivare al numero magico di 36.
Nel percorso itinerante che vogliamo portare avanti il numero resterà immutato ma cambieranno alcuni artisti per permettere nuovi ingressi soprattutto di artisti della città ospitanti.

Parola d’Artista: La mostra si presenta ora a Villa Croce a Genova in precedenza è stata presentata a Palazzo Ducale di Gubbio, quali differenze ci sono fra le due mostre?

Isabella Puliafito: Visibilia è un racconto ogni volta diverso a seconda del luogo che la ospita e delle opere che la compongono, talvolta site specific, create appositamente, altre volte collocate in modo che creino un rapporto simbiotico con lo spazio di cui diventano parte anche se per un periodo limitato.
Tutte insieme sono parte, per un breve periodo, dello spazio che le accoglie in una sorta di dialogo aperto con il luogo stesso, con le altre opere e con chi si sofferma a scrutarne il significato interiore.
Prima di Genova Visibilia è stata presentata a palazzo Ducale di Gubbio, ospitata nei due piani dello spazio archeologico, fortemente connotato e pregno di storia fra i muri e le antiche pietre, resti del palazzo si cui è stato edificato da Federico da Montefeltro l’attuale Palazzo Ducale.
Le opere si sono adatttate allo spazio illuminando i percorsi fra le pietre millenarie trovando le collocazioni nel rispetto del luogo e della sua storia.
Visibilia Gubbio ha rappresentato un importante momento di rinnovata partecipazione alla vita, una sorta di risveglio dopo i due anni di Covid.
Villa Croce, che ospita Visibilia, è delicata, elegante, fra una folta vegetazione e l’affaccio sul mare, dolce nel suo interno con le grottesche che rappresentano la natura con dolcezza e raffinata eleganza, e le opere seguono questa atmosfera: sono leggere e pongono tematiche differenti, fra notturni stellati, lucidi percorsi di riflessioni soggettive e profonde considerazioni sul presente.
C’è molta natura in Visibilia Genova, una natura di cui a tratti si vogliono mostrare le difficoltà, con dolcezza ma anche un velo di tristezza.
È un racconto che può far leva sulle coscienze, senza urlare, ma presentando una problematica che è sulla coscienza di noi tutti.
L’arte da sempre ha il compito arduo e insostituibile di cogliere l’essenza della realtà e restituirla in modo che possa entrare nei cuori.
Le sue forme diverse, i suoi linguaggi insoliti aprono interrogativi, perplessità a cui si danno risposte talvolta più complicate delle opere stesse, mentre sono molto più semplici perché inducono alla riflessione.

Parola d’Artista: Come pensi di sviluppare questo progetto?

Isabella Puliafito: Sin dall’inizio Visibilia è stata pensata come mostra itinerante, in quanto è importate dimostrare come nella sua complessità una mostra può trasformarsi e adeguarsi agli spazi e ai tempi.
La mostra a Genova e in realtà completamente differente dalla mostra di Gubbio, seppure sia per la quasi totalità formata dagli stessi artisti.
Sempre più Visibilia si sta configurando come tendenza che abbraccia artisti di tre generazioni e provenienti da tutta italia.
Come in passato i movimenti sono sempre nati dagli artisti dai loro incontri e dalle reciproche riflessioni.
*inizialmente si chiamo “effetto Gubbio”, e solo poco dopo è diventata “Visibilia, come rendere visibile l’invisibile.

Parola d’Artista: How was the Visibilia project born and around which concepts does it develop?

Isabella Puliafito: It is difficult to reconstruct a mental path. When exactly the Visibilia project was born I do not know, about five years ago, when I was in Gubbio in 2019. Certainly in the last twenty years a certain impatience crept into the back of my mind  in observing a progressive fraying in the visual arts, which I still find in the considerations of some illustrious representatives and promoters of contemporary art. Too many somewhat botched biennials, too many fairs with the resulting marketing. Certainly, the past decades have seen the supremacy of great protagonists who have dominated and still dominate the Italian art scene with great echo also internationally. After decades so rich in great art, there is always a brief interval from which a sort of evolution emerges and is then configured, which in any case has its roots in the great masters. 

Visibilia incorporates the desire to rediscover this red thread that binds research to tradition in a continuum, developing themes, considerations, but modifying techniques, materials, and display methods with new technologies. Visibilia represents a particular tendency towards immateriality, towards impermanence, towards a look at reality in all its natural and emotional aspects expressed with light, sometimes invisible forms, with light colours, with dust, ash, starry nights, evanescence, poetic songs.

Visibilia is about the world of vibrations, of the subtle energies that every thing, every animate and inanimate object emits as long as it has life, and conveys it with gentle references and profound reflections on what is visible and often invisible to our retina.

That invisible enclosed everywhere, in emotions, thoughts, dreams, imagination, but also in the world of matter near and far, in the essence of things in the broad spectrum of intuitions.

That essence that can be perceived through vibrations with a silent reference to the inner life.The spiritual factor is as inherent in matter as the heart in a body, to separate matter from its essence would be like removing air from the atmosphere, salt from the sea.Reality is composed of elements that from solid become liquid or gaseous and vice versa in an eternal movement, in a perennial and inescapable transformation.They all exist in different forms and compactness. These are the secrets to be known, these are the secrets of the alchemy of substances, their intrinsic qualities and their infinite possibilities, which, in different and calibrated quantities, lead to a strong empathy with what surrounds us and make life itself a strange alchemy.

Visibilia is a multimedia exhibition, seeking to represent all forms of expression. The works cover a wide range of visual explorations from digital and non-digital photography to acrylic painting, from video to neon, from projections to installations with different materials.

Parola d’Artista: Which artists have you involved and why?

Isabella Puliafito: After thinking about all the artists whose work I knew and loved and in whose work I recognised a similar poetics, I talked about it with Remo Salvadori in the wonderful setting of the piazza in Altopascio.

Remo shared the project, as did Marco Bagnoli, and together we widened the circle of artists in whom we could recognise the moods and themes that we recognised in the artists I had begun to group. Almost all of them were pupils or assistants of great artists such as Luciano Fabro, Mario Merz, Alighiero Boetti, Giulio Paolini, Alberto Garutti, Alik Cavaliere, and they knew and loved works by the great predecessors. Then after hearing from other artists, the group expanded further until it reached the magic number of 36.

In the itinerant route we want to take, the number will remain unchanged but some artists will change to allow new entries, especially of artists from the host city.

Parola d’Artista: The exhibition is now being presented at Villa Croce in Genoa and was previously presented at Palazzo Ducale in Gubbio, what differences are there between the two exhibitions?

Isabella Puliafito: Visibilia is a story that is different each time, depending on the place that hosts it and the works that compose it, sometimes site-specific, specially created, other times placed in such a way that they create a symbiotic relationship with the space they become part of, even if only for a limited period.

All together they are part, for a brief period, of the space that hosts them in a sort of open dialogue with the place itself, with the other works and with those who pause to scrutinise their inner meaning.

Prior to Genoa, Visibilia was presented at the Palazzo Ducale in Gubbio, housed on the two floors of the archaeological space, strongly marked and steeped in history among the walls and ancient stones, the remains of the palace where Federico da Montefeltro built the present Palazzo Ducale.

The works have adapted to the space, illuminating the paths among the millenary stones, finding their place in respect of the place and its history.

Visibilia Gubbio represented an important moment of renewed participation in life, a kind of reawakening after the two years of Covid.

Villa Croce, which hosts Visibilia, is delicate, elegant, amidst dense vegetation and overlooking the sea, gentle in its interior with its grotesques representing nature with sweetness and refined elegance, and the works follow this atmosphere: they are light and pose different themes, amidst starry nocturnes, lucid paths of subjective reflections and profound considerations on the present. There is a lot of nature in Visibilia Genova, a nature whose difficulties are shown at times, with gentleness but also a veil of sadness.

It is a story that can appeal to consciences, without shouting, but presenting a problem that is on the conscience of us all.

Art has always had the arduous and irreplaceable task of capturing the essence of reality and rendering it so that it can enter hearts.

Its different forms, its unusual languages open up questions, perplexities to which answers are sometimes more complicated than the works themselves, while they are much simpler because they induce reflection.

Parola d’Artista: How do you plan to develop this project?

Isabella Puliafito: Right from the start, Visibilia was conceived as a travelling exhibition, as it is important to show how in its complexity an exhibition can transform and adapt to spaces and times. The exhibition in Genoa is actually completely different from the exhibition in Gubbio, even though it is almost entirely made up of the same artists. More and more Visibilia is taking shape as a trend that embraces artists of three generations and from all over Italy. As in the past, the movements have always originated from the artists’ meetings and mutual reflections.
