Credo che per un artista il proprio studio sia fondamentale. E’ più di una seconda casa, è il luogo in cui crea ma non solo, contiene ed assorbe le fasi che caratterizzano la ricerca artistica. Per me rappresenta uno spazio intimo in cui sono libera di fare e non fare, è un rifugio e una base sicura. Spesso mi capita di avere un’intuizione in altri luoghi e contesti ma so che l’unico modo per capire e riflettere è quello di chiudermi nel mio studio, che per me è un spazio sacro. Ovviamente non è sempre facile lavorare in serenità, capitano anche dei giorni in cui non riesco a farlo, per varie ragioni, ma credo siano momenti altrettanto importanti di crescita. In fondo è proprio lì che mi accorgo di tante cose, standoci e rimanendoci. Da quando sono in questo spazio la mia ricerca è cambiata molto, soprattutto per quanto riguarda le installazioni e questa penso sia la riprova che per un artista è fondamentale avere uno studio adeguato al proprio linguaggio, misurarsi con esso e poter osservare il lavoro nel modo giusto.
Da circa tre anni lavoro negli spazi di Fondamenta Gallery e al momento oltre me ci sono le artiste Margherita Giordano, Prisca Baccaille, Maura Prosperi e l’artista Giovanni Longo. La condivisione dello studio è per me un valore aggiunto, tra di noi c’è molta intesa e sinergia, sono stata fortunata. E’ bello alternare momenti di solitudine a momenti di confronto, parlare d’arte e distrarsi quando è necessario.

I believe that for an artist one’s studio is fundamental. It is more than a second home, it is the place where she creates but not only, it contains and absorbs the phases that characterise her artistic research. For me it represents an intimate space where I am free to do and not to do, it is a refuge and a secure base. I often have an intuition in other places and contexts but I know that the only way to understand and reflect is to shut myself away in my studio, which for me is a sacred space. Obviously it is not always easy to work in serenity, there are also days when I cannot do it, for various reasons, but I believe they are equally important moments of growth. After all, it is there that I realise many things, being there and staying there. Since I have been in this space, my research has changed a lot, especially as far as installations are concerned, and I think this is proof that it is fundamental for an artist to have a studio adapted to his language, to measure himself against it and to be able to observe the work in the right way.
For about three years now, I have been working in the spaces of Fondamenta Gallery and at the moment, besides myself, there are the artists Margherita Giordano, Prisca Baccaille, Maura Prosperi and the artist Giovanni Longo. Sharing the studio is an added value for me, there is a lot of understanding and synergy between us, I have been lucky. It’s nice to alternate moments of solitude with moments of confrontation, to talk about art and to be distracted when necessary.
