Io e Paolo siamo legatissimi al nostro studio. In prima battuta perché è uno spazio meraviglioso, nientemeno che la Palazzina Liberty dei Giardini Margherita, parco pubblico di Bologna, edificio storico di proprietà del Comune che ci è stato assegnato grazie al bando “Incredibol”.

E infine perché è un luogo pieno di storie che ci hanno visti coinvolti, progetti e amicizie nate qui, opere generate e ancora in fase di costruzione nei laboratori.  Ha un piano luminoso dove progettiamo al computer ed esponiamo i lavori che hanno bisogno della luce naturale ma il luogo magico si trova nei seminterrati, dove le nostre opere luminose danno il loro meglio ad ogni ora del giorno e dove tutti gli attrezzi risiedono, il luogo dove davvero si crea. Per l’ideazione invece, tutta un’altra storia, può nascere ovunque, sempre a due, sempre conversando, a volte camminando, a volte durante i nostri viaggi, sempre prima di tornare nella nostra casa base.

Paolo and I are very attached to our studio. First of all because it is a wonderful space, none other than the Palazzina Liberty in the Giardini Margherita, a public park in Bologna, a historic building owned by the municipality that was assigned to us thanks to the ‘Incredibol’ competition.

And finally because it is a place full of stories that have seen us involved, projects and friendships born here, works generated and still under construction in the workshops.  It has a luminous floor where we design on the computer and display the works that need natural light, but the magic place is in the basement, where our luminous works are at their best at all hours of the day and where all the tools reside, the place where we really create. For conception, on the other hand, it’s a different story, it can be born anywhere, always in conversation, sometimes walking, sometimes on our travels, always before returning to our home base.

Paolo et moi sommes très attachés à notre studio. Tout d’abord parce qu’il s’agit d’un espace merveilleux, qui n’est autre que la Palazzina Liberty dans le Giardini Margherita, un parc public de Bologne, un bâtiment historique appartenant à la municipalité qui nous a été attribué grâce au concours “Incredibol”.

Enfin, parce que c’est un lieu plein d’histoires dans lesquelles nous nous sommes impliqués, de projets et d’amitiés qui sont nés ici, d’œuvres générées et encore en construction dans les ateliers.  Il y a un étage lumineux où l’on conçoit sur ordinateur et où l’on expose les œuvres qui ont besoin de lumière naturelle, mais l’endroit magique se trouve au sous-sol, où nos œuvres lumineuses sont à leur meilleur à toute heure du jour et où résident tous les outils, l’endroit où l’on crée vraiment. Pour la conception, en revanche, c’est une autre histoire, elle peut naître n’importe où, toujours à deux, toujours en conversant, parfois en marchant, parfois en voyageant, toujours avant de revenir à la maison.

Paolo und ich hängen sehr an unserem Atelier. Zunächst einmal, weil es ein wunderbarer Ort ist, kein anderer als die Palazzina Liberty in den Giardini Margherita, einem öffentlichen Park in Bologna, ein historisches Gebäude im Besitz der Gemeinde, das uns dank des Wettbewerbs “Incredibol” zugewiesen wurde.

Und schließlich, weil es ein Ort voller Geschichten ist, an denen wir beteiligt waren, Projekte und Freundschaften, die hier entstanden sind, Werke, die in den Werkstätten entstanden sind und noch entstehen.  Es gibt einen beleuchteten Boden, wo wir am Computer entwerfen und die Werke ausstellen, die natürliches Licht benötigen, aber der magische Ort ist der Keller, wo unsere leuchtenden Werke zu jeder Tageszeit am besten zur Geltung kommen und wo sich alle Werkzeuge befinden, der Ort, an dem wir wirklich schaffen. Die Konzeption hingegen ist eine andere Geschichte, sie kann überall entstehen, immer zu zweit, immer im Gespräch, manchmal beim Spazierengehen, manchmal auf unseren Reisen, immer vor der Rückkehr zu unserer Heimatbasis.
